Hello Parents/Guardians,
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
Recently, a cadet’s family has come forward with a fundraising proposal to help raise funds for the squadron. The family owned New Joyful Living Ltd., a registered company in Canada.
The company has made available KN95 disposable face masks to the 918 SSC for sale. I have personally inspected the masks and they appeared to be very well made. Each box contains 10 masks and each mask is also individually wrapped. Some of you might have concerns about the quality of the masks but I want to assure you that the masks have received the Certificate of Compliance from Ente Certificazione Macchine (A European Notified Body (n.1282) authorized to carry out conformity assessments and issue product certifications according to ISO 17065, with respect to the requirements of the major product directives.) and have been legally imported into Canada. Please refer to the attached for further details and product info.
The 918 SSC will be selling 4 boxes of 10 (40 disposable KN95 face masks) for $20 as per New Joyful Living’s suggestion. For comparison, Costco is also selling the KN95 masks at $19.99 for a box of 20. By purchasing from the 918 SSC, you will not only be getting an additional 20 masks but the squadron also benefits by receiving 40% of the sales proceeds, hence, a win-win situation.
If family members, friends, colleagues, and even neighbors that you know are going to be purchasing masks in the coming days, please kindly ask them to consider buying from the 918 SSC. That way, you will also be helping the 918 SSC raise the much needed funds to enhance our cadets’ experience for the next training year when conditions, hopefully will return to normal. Currently, we have not been approved for a casino licence and even if we do receive one in the coming days, we do not know when our turn to host one will be due to the massive backlogs arising from the pandemic. It could very well be up to a year or more before we can even host our very first casino. In the meantime, we just have to continue to fundraise so that we can enter the next training year with a better financial situation.
Lastly, the 918 SSC would like to thank New Joyful Living for donating 40% of the sales proceeds to the squadron. We are hoping that the families of every cadet family will help support the squadron by participating in this great fundraising opportunity. There are not many fundraising opportunities out there with a return of 40%, so we should all take advantage of this. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you.
On behalf of the 918 SSC,
Joseph Tan
Fundraising Director
