As mentioned last week, we would like your input on how 918 can best support you and your families during our shutdown period. If you are a cadet or parent/guardian – Please take a few minutes to fill in the following survey.
All of these support items are completely optional and will not impact your cadets training records etc.
918 Kit Shop
Hello Griffons – we are finally launching our online Kit Shop for 918! This allows you and your families to order gear with our squadron logo and name and have it partially customized to your liking.
Please keep in mind, for military items the crest for a shirt usually appears on the left breast.
These kit shop materials are sold very close to cost only a small margin will go to the squadron for each purchase.
Happy shopping!

Urgent Notice: 918 Training Changes (Covid-19 Update)
To minimize personnel risk of exposure and to prevent the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and cadets from becoming a transmission vector, please note the following:
- We remind participants who are displaying symptoms such as cough and fever to seek medical attention and take time to recover before returning to activities. They will not be penalized for their absence, but are directed to notify us http://918aircadets.ca/report-absence/ or emailing 918attendance@gmail.com
- Local activities are subject to the urgent update on March 13 on the website.
- Activities taking place outside of the Good Shepherd Church or overnight activities will be cancelled/postponed until at least April 30, 2020
- It is too early to tell if there will be an impact on summer training. The “National Cadet Office” is working on a variety of contingency plans in response to these concerns. However, as of 12 March, 2020 no additional offers of participation or offers of employment at CTCs/CFTCs will be actioned until after 30 April, 2020.
The “National Cadet Office” is continuing to actively monitor the situation, in cooperation with local, provincial and federal health officials, and will adjust our approach as the situation continues to unfold. Information will be communicated with you via our website in posts like this one so please keep an eye out for them.

Mar 7 408 CAF Famil Postponed
Unfortunate news – due to the poor visibility forecasted for tomorrow, 408 is unable to fly their helicopters for our event. The lateness of this notice is due to the repeated efforts of the officers at 408 to see if an updated forecast might change enough so that they would be able to safely fly our cadets, which has not worked out this time.
We have cancelled the event for tomorrow, and are actively looking for another weekend which would work for this type of event. If we are able to setup another date, those cadets selected for this date will be given the first opportunity to accept if the new date works for them before we open it up to the rest of the squadron.
If you have any questions – please reach out to Captain Angel
