Your bottle donations on October 12th helped give an extra $900 towards your cadets.
We will try again next month, again on the second Wednesday of the month so you can drop off your bottles at the trailer in the parking lot.
The parent meeting on October 12th had a record turnout! The library staff at Judith Umbach were utterly amazed at the number of parents that came out for our air cadet squadron. Please see the attached minutes of the meeting to see what 918 squadron has planned for this year, and how we intend to enhance your cadet’s experience if we can meet budgeted expenses.

An e-mail regarding screening has been sent by Major Angel to many parents who already signed up to volunteer. Please submit this form at your earliest convenience. Volunteer meeting is arranged for October 26 at 19:00 hours (7 pm) at the same library located in Thornhill. We apologize for the over-crowding previously. Calendar Sales – Parents, you are expected to pick up a minimum of 2 calendars to purchase or sell to family/friends/colleagues. This calendar has over 60 cash draw prizes, and helps our squadron and Air Cadet League do more for the cadets. When you drop off your cadet, please park and pick up your calendars from the volunteer at the church entrance.
We understand that many parents have very busy schedules, and may not be able to offer as much volunteer time. As part of the 918 cadet team, please support your cadet through the cheque writing campaign. Thanks to the 17 parents who have contributed $200 for their cadet, as this helps secure the next couple months’ expenses. However, we have many months to go. Take a moment to read the attached meeting minutes that clarify what expenses are covered by the Department of National Defense versus squadron expenses. A donation form is also attached, and you can send an e-transfer or fill out the form and submit with a cheque to the SSC executive at the next parent meeting.
