We are looking into the opportunity to join the 4 Wing CAF Familiarization event with a possible 500 cadets from across AB and SK!
We would depart early in the day on Friday April 17 and return late in the evening on Sunday April 19 (via bus from Calgary) – cadets expressing an interest would need to be able to attend the full weekend since it is in Cold Lake Alberta at 4 Wing Air Force Base.
4 Wing / CFB Cold Lake offer visits to the Operation Support Squadron (OSS); that includes the control tower, terminal control, meteorology, Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR), and the Readiness Training Flight (RTF). Tours will also include visiting the Mission Support Squadron (MSS); that includes Heavy Equipment Operators and Maintenance which is part of the Transport, Electrical and Maintenance Engineering (TEME) support for the wing. And the tour will also involve one of the F-18 Squadrons, and /or our Search and Rescue Squadron. This list is not a full list of all the options and all tours will depend on ongoing operations and individual squadrons/unit schedules.
