Hello Cadet Parents,
Just under 2 weeks before Christmas. Thanks to the brave parents for driving in Calgary winter to bring your cadets to the 918 squadron events. We are fortunate to have very dedicated and skilled volunteers and officers who work hard to provide a variety of instruction and activities!
Thanks to the dedicated parents who have already responded to our fundraising campaigns. Just a reminder that all parents received a form to complete and return. Cadets can return parent forms, donations, and calendar stubs to the canteen volunteers. Parents can also bring these to the parent meeting…
The next parent meeting is this Wednesday, December 14th, at 19:00 (7 pm) at the Judith Umbach library with more event updates from Major Angel and SSC Executive. Topics include marksmanship, cadet photos, electing a new treasurer, hoodies, volunteering for Calgary Sports & Entertainment.
There is NO BOTTLE DRIVE in December. Wish you a marvelous holiday season, drink and be merry …and collect your bottles for the January bottle drive 🙂
Our squadron is trying to find the best way to communicate with parents, as we observed often parents miss some important messages. We have re-activated TeamApp for parents use only, not cadets. Sign up for Team App; combined with the Google calendar platform that you currently use, it is a source of announcements and provides notifications of changes. Please come to the parent meeting if you have questions on how to sign up for this.
Finally, a reminder to please sign up for volunteering with Calgary Sports & Entertainment. Parents and volunteers over age 16 can make a big difference with our squadron fundraising by taking on some shifts at the Saddledome. Some of you received an e-mail from the chair on November 29th on how to sign up. There are 2 courses, a waiver, and an in-person orientation on Monday, January 16th, 2023 @5pm. Please sign up this week so our squadron can secure this opportunity with CSEG.
