In response to continuing developments in the outbreak of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the National Cadet and Junior Canadian Ranger Support Group has further extended the cancellation of ALL IN-PERSON CADET ACTIVITIES, including but not limited to local training and summer training courses, until 31 Aug 2020.
Cadets will not be penalized for missing the remainder of the 2019-2020 training year, and will be credited as having this year’s training completed.
Detailed information on this can be found at portal.cadets.gc.ca – create a login, go to the tab marked ‘Policy’ and scroll down (and click) CANCDTGENs, open 015/20 Spring and Summer 2020 Activities Cancellation.
Additional details related to the impact of this decision and the way forward will be communicated to all in the weeks ahead. An additional webpage (Training > COVID-19 Impact) will be created on this site to help answer some common questions from 918 cadets and parents, and will be updated as details are made available.
We understand many will be disappointed with this news. The strength and resilience of the people who not only support and lead this program, but also participate in it will prevail. This is our role to play in demonstrating leadership and citizenship in the face of adversity. 918 Griffon Squadron is up for the challenge.
