Due to the scope and public nature of this event, we are aiming to have all prospecting participants to be have attained at least the rank of Cpl.
The Calgary Miniature Pylon Racing Association (CMPRA) is once again this year requesting assistance from 781 Sqn for spotters and timers for their upcoming races on 27 & 28 Jul 19. 781 are requesting that we provide additional support to ensure that they are able to fully staff both days. They require six (6) cadets for each day.
As we are supporting 781, numbers are extremely limited. Once we have a concrete list of who is needed to participate, we will contact those cadets.
There will be a training day on Sunday, 30 Jun 19 at 1100 hrs. For those participating cadets they will also be given the opportunity to fly RC aircraft with the assistance/instruction of CMPRA members. A hot dog and drink lunch will be provided on that day. It is highly recommended that you attend this training session, as the RC aircraft used during the races travel at an extremely high rate of speed and a high degree of concentration on your part will be required.
Cadets will be required to arrive at the air field on race days NLT 0845 hrs and will be expected to be there all day (approximately 1600 hrs). Lunch will also be supplied on these days as well (will likely be chili). If vegetarian or cannot eat beef or just don’t like chili, you will be required to bring your own lunch as there will be no alternatives.
See the map below for instructions as to how to get there, as well as this map link: https://goo.gl/maps/tsmFFNabN8YRYjER8 (it may look like a lake on the map, but satellite view shows the airstrip and course.
